Junior World Team Challenge - Sweeper Singles RULES - updated March 2010
1) This is a scratch singles competition in 2 divisions. All entrants must hold a current USBC Membership and not reach their 22nd birthday as of August 1, 2009,, and must be members in good standing. This event is USBC Youth Certified. Current and former PBA members are not eligible to compete. 2) Participation: Each squad is a separate event. Awards will be distributed each squad separately. Bowlers may bowl in either or both squads. Bowlers may place in both squads as scores are not combined. 3) Squad Times: There will be 2 squads as follows: Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Suncoast Bowling Center, Las Vegas. Squad Check-in Begins Entries Close Start Time A 1:15 pm 1:45 pm** 2:00pm B 8:30 pm 9:15 pm** 9:30pm **Note: Both squads will have a limited number of entries, and entries may close early if maximum capacity is reached. 4) Entry Fee: The entry fee is $40.00 ($12.50 – Expenses, $27.50 – Prize Fund). Prize fund will be paid out 100%. No personal checks are accepted on-site.. 5) Prize Fund: All awards will be paid in scholarships. Awards will be given on a 1:8 ratio. Scholarships will be deposited with the USBC SMART Program (Acct #8984). Prize funds will be calculated and paid out separately for each division and for each squad. If there is a tie for any scholarship position, the scholarship money for that position and the one immediately below it will be combined and divided evenly between the bowlers involved. 6) Special Awards: Bowling Balls from Rotogrip will be presented to the champions! 7) Divisions: Competition will be in 2 divisions, Limited and Unlimited.
8) Format: Competitors will bowl 3 games, moving after each game. Total pins for the 3-game series (no handicap) will determine standings. Standings will be maintained separately for each division and each squad. 9) Conduct: Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Undue display of temper and the disturbance of other bowlers will not be allowed including, but not limited to, profanity and kicking/hitting fixtures or equipment. Poor conduct will be grounds for disqualification, without verbal warning or refund, by the Tournament Director. Use of any type of tobacco products is NOT allowed. 10) Dress Code:

Carefully!
Collared shirts will not be required for these
events. However, clothing &/or equipment with alcohol or tobacco advertising, or with offensive material
on them, will not be allowed. Shirt
must come down to the waist (abdomen fully covered when extended at the foul line). Pants, jeans,
shorts or skirts may be worn, but may not have holes or rips in them.
Shorts/shirts must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee
measured when standing straight .
All pants, shorts, skirts, etc. shall be worn at waist level (no sagging is
permitted). Undergarments may not be visible.
Hats
are not allowed. Electronic devices such as Ipods, MP3 players, etc. may not be worn or used on the approach - they may be used in the setee area so long as they are not audible to any other bowler. Cellular phones and pagers shall be put on silent mode or turned off and not used during competition. - The tournament director will have the final say on all dress code issues. 11) Tournament Management/Protests: All situations not covered in these rules shall be covered by USBC rules. Protest must be filed with tournament management in accordance with USBC Rule 329.. The decision of the Tournament Director will be final unless appealed to USBC according to rule 329. |
